Thumbnail Creation
Editorial Thumbnail
System
Designing a scalable visual identity for premium content.
A thumbnail system for premium editorial content that stays consistent, recognizable, and visually clear across the whole platform.
Overview
I designed the thumbnail system for premium articles, reports, interviews, case studies, and other editorial content.
The goal was a visual language that signals value at a glance, feels unmistakably IE+, and makes it obvious what's premium and what's free.
The Challenge
Premium content needed a recognizable visual identity that could:
- Stand apart from free content
- Remain consistent across categories
- Scale efficiently across hundreds of articles
- Reflect the subject matter of each publication
- Strengthen the overall IE+ brand experience
Design Approach
Brand Consistency
Built a visual language that's unmistakably IE+.
Content Recognition
Made it obvious at a glance what's premium.
Scalability
Built a system that holds up across every content category.
Customization
Adapted the visuals to fit whatever each article was actually about.
Visual System
Every thumbnail follows the same visual framework, but there's enough room in it to reflect the specific topic, industry, technology, or story.
Designed For
Different Stories
The system stays visually consistent, but every thumbnail is still adapted to the content it represents.
Visual treatments, imagery, composition, and hierarchy are adjusted depending on the topic while preserving a unified editorial identity.
Impact
Recognition
Making premium content easier to identify.

Maintaining a cohesive editorial experience.
Scalability

Brand Identity
Strengthening the IE+ visual language.
