"What struck me most working with Hüdaverdi was that he evaluates design decisions not just aesthetically, but against business goals. He actively takes part in ideation, brings different perspectives, and isn't afraid to take ownership."
How I found
my way
The Beginning
My interest in design actually started long before computers did.
One of my favorite things as a kid was drawing faces. I'd sketch portraits and spend hours on the details. In primary school I got the chance to meet the painter İsmet Çetin, and a big part of my childhood was spent in his studio. I painted with oils and learned that art isn't just the finished piece. It's also the process of making it.
Back then I had no idea this would turn into a career. I just loved creating things.
Discovering the Digital World
I got my first real hands-on experience with computers in high school.
Digital design wasn't as accessible back then as it is now, but that's when I first realized design doesn't only exist on paper, on canvas, or in the physical world. Screens are designed too, and digital worlds are made too.
In university I discovered Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. These tools opened a new door for me. I did print design work, took on freelance projects, produced digital illustrations, and started exploring different disciplines.
Around the same time, I got the chance to work with Refik Anadol and Haluk Akakçe. Seeing up close how art, technology, and experience design relate to each other changed my perspective significantly.
From Design to Experience
At university, I became interested not only in how a product looked, but also in how people used it. During a project with MUDO, I studied the online shopping behaviour of Gen X and Gen Y audiences. I worked with customer journeys, heatmaps, funnel data, and Google Analytics to understand where users hesitated and what influenced their decisions.
That project changed the way I approached design. I began to see it as a way to connect user needs, product decisions, and business goals.
Products, People, and Business Goals
My early product work focused on industrial and technical systems. At Noyatech, I designed SaaS products, dashboards, admin panels, control panels, and HMI interfaces across 12 projects. Much of the work involved turning complex data and technical workflows into interfaces that were easier to understand and manage.
I also worked on user research, usability reviews, and UX audits while collaborating with engineering teams from early concepts through implementation. Over time, my work expanded into websites, mobile apps, media platforms, and other digital products.
Today
Today, I work as a UX/UI Designer at a media company, on a news website and a mobile app read all over the world. My work includes user research, user flows, onboarding, subscriptions, paywalls, content discovery, usability testing, and design systems.
I use user behaviour and performance data to improve conversion, engagement, and retention. I work closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams throughout the process. I also use AI tools for research, writing, analysis, and prototyping when they help me work faster or test an idea more clearly.
I am still driven by the same curiosity that brought me into design: understanding how people use products and finding clearer ways to make them work.
